I have no intention of growing old gracefully, I intend to be as disgraceful as possible.
Eight months after her journey began Gail Farrow looks radiant after receiving more than £2,000 worth of cosmetic treatment thanks to the Wiltshire Times' Turn Back The Clock competition.
Miss Farrow, of Lister Grove, Lower Westwood, was selected from a shortlist of five back in August by Dr Rupert Gabriel of Snowberry Lane Clinic in Melksham, who carried out the treatments.
As a bonus prize Miss Farrow, 54, was treated to a free makeover by hairdressers and beauticians at TLC in Sycamore Grove Trowbridge.
Her application stood out as she had gone through a lot of troubles in her life but had never complained or asked for anything.
She had previously worked with elderly people and fostered 15 children but has been unable to work for a decade due to spinal problems and faces a lifetime of hospital visits.
Miss Farrow said "I was absolutely thrilled at winning this competition, it was the sort of thing I'd always wanted but could never afford."

She began by having the condition of her skin analysed at the clinic on a state-of-the-art machine, which found it was in bad condition for her age due to sun damage.
She had Botox to smooth out her frown lines and restylane fillers to plump out some of the deeper lines.
Then she started laser treatment to make her skin tighter and smooth out the finer wrinkles.
After each treatment her face would go red and the skin harden before flaking off, leaving her skin feeling hot for a few hours, but it did not put her off.
Her next treatment was blepharoplasty, a form of 'eye lift' done under local anaesthetic, which made a huge difference to her appearance.
She said 'Before I had the blepharoplasty I had so much loose skin that my eyelids literally used to hang on my eyelashes and putting make-up on was a nightmare."
"Now I've actually got eyelids and it's really opened up my eyes."
"I feel like a new woman and I look like one too. I would never have thought something so great would happen to someone like me."
Dr Gabriel said the results proved that a combination of treatments usually work best.
He said: "It's gone very well ad I think it's definitely been worth it for her. The eyes have had a big effect."
"We're going to miss having her around but I'm sure she'll come back for maintenance work."
Miss Farrow thanked all the staff at Snowberry Lane for their care and attention and the hairdressers and beauticians at TLC for doing her hair and make-up.
