A smooth, even complexion is the key to younger looking skin, yet many of us are marked in some way, either from sun damage, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles or due to trauma or the results of previous operations.

Thankfully, a simple technique called Smartxide DOT can help smooth out these contours on the skin to promote an overall more even surface. The procedure uses the latest fractional CO2 laser technology to deliver precise bursts of light to specific areas of the skin, treating 'every other dot in the matrix' to enable quicker recovery in just a few days.

Does it hurt?

Local anaesthetic can be applied prior to treatments but is not always necessary.

Are there any side effects?

Heat damage is kept to a minimum unlike standard resurfacing so there is only the smallest discomfort with the treatment. The skin recovers quickly with mild redness for a couple of days and possibly some minor scabbing, which quickly disappears.

How long does treatment take?

SmartXide is one of a number of 'lunchtime' treatments available from Snowberry Clinic. Usually a course of treatments are required two to four weeks apart.

How long will the effects of the treatment last?

The SmartXide treatment causes a rapid tightening of the skin reduces blemishes and softens irregularities and scarring . It also stimulates collagen production, giving the skin a plumper look and feel. The collagen produced helps to prolong the effects of the treatment, and gives a more even result.
