SmartXide

Using a CO2 laser, generally recognised to be the optimum wavelength for this type of treatment, having been recently introduced to the UK.

Does it hurt?

Local anaesthetic can be applied prior to treatments but is not always necessary.

Are there any side effects?

Heat damage is kept to a minimum unlike standard resurfacing so there is only the smallest discomfort with the treatment. The skin recovers quickly with mild redness for a couple of days and possibly some minor scabbing, which quickly disappears.

How long does treatment take?

SmartXide is one of a number of 'lunchtime' treatments available from Snowberry Clinic. Usually a course of treatments are required two to four weeks apart.

How long will the effects of the treatment last?

The SmartXide treatment causes a rapid tightening of the skin reduces blemishes and softens irregularities and scarring . It also stimulates collagen production, giving the skin a plumper look and feel. The collagen produced helps to prolong the effects of the treatment, and gives a more even result.
