HIFU our Non-Invasive Alternative to a Facelift

What is HIFU?

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, it uses ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen within the deep layers beneath the surface of the skin, which helps to create a tightening, rejuvenating effect promoting a more youthful appearance.

  • Brow
  • Jowl
  • Mid face
  • Nasolabial fold
  • Neck

Most clients do report some discomfort during treatment, likening it to a strong prickling sensation and feeling heat within the skin. The most sensitive areas are where the skin is thinnest over the bones.

How many treatments will I need?

Most clients elect to have 1-2 treatments for best results. However, during your consultation, the number of treatments will be discussed depending on individual needs.

What can I expect following treatment?

Most clients experience slight redness and a small amount of swelling following the treatment. It is also possible to feel a tingling sensation and for the treated area to be tender for a few days after treatment.

How much downtime is needed?

Most clients return to their normal daily routine the next day.

How long do results take to develop:

Commonly results will develop over an approximate period of 3-6 months, as collagen is stimulated and renewed.

How long do HIFU effects last?

Most people find results last over 1 year, although yearly touch-up treatments are recommended to stay ahead of the ageing process.

How is HIFU revolutionising facial rejuvenation treatment?

HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, the way that this ground breaking treatment works is through a specially designed hand-piece that delivers thermal energy in the form of multiple beams of ultrasound to stimulate collagen. It is the collagen within the skin that gives us a more youthful appearance and HIFU works to activate this, helping to contract and tighten the surface of the skin. HIFU is specially designed to penetrate the layer of the skin which is tightened during traditional facelift surgery, however, as HIFU is non-invasive the downtime is significantly reduced and the cost of treatment is much lower.

What issues can HIFU be used to treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles on the face
  • Frown lines
  • Crow’s feet and smile lines
  • Double chins
  • Neck and jowl area
