We are very proud of being registered with the Care Quality Commission, but not everyone knows what this means, so in this week’s blog post we are going to explain who the CQC are and how we work with them.
Are ‘the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.’
They ‘make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage care services to improve.’
One of our key principles is to maintain the highest standards of care with a medical leadership team. For this reason, we invite external regulation to ensure that we conduct ourselves with excellence at all times and are always striving to improve our services. The CQC carry out audits, spot checks and inspections of practices to ensure that their standards of care are being upheld.
We also know that it is very easy for a practice to self-promote their standards of care as higher than they might be, however inviting the scrutiny of an independent regulator means that this claim can be trusted and validated.
When you’re looking for a clinic to carry out a cosmetic procedure for you, we thoroughly recommend making sure that they are registered with the Care Quality Commission so that you know you are in safe hands.

Cosmetic treatments are incredibly popular, with tens of thousands of people in the UK choosing to get treatments every year. More and more people, including celebrities, are talking openly about their treatments so there is no need to feel that you can’t too. Talking openly with friends and family can be a great way to relieve any tension you’re feeling both before and after treatment. However, if you’d rather keep it to yourself that’s absolutely fine too.
Subtle means successful
At Snowberry Lane Clinic we pride ourselves on ensuring our treatments give subtle natural looking results that aim to boost your confidence. Not making more drastic changes means your treatment is more likely to go unnoticed.
Give yourself enough time to recover
All treatments are different and each individual’s recovery time
will vary, however if you can get a good idea of the average down time of your
treatment this will enable you to make better plans for your recovery. And if
you really want to, you can wait until all signs of having the treatment have
gone or can be easily covered or concealed.
Talk to someone you trust
With treatments that are more intensive you might want to talk to someone before, during and after your treatment. We have a partnership with a Psychotherapist who you can make an appointment with to help council you through the process. This service is not exclusive to any treatment so if you’d like an appointment with our Psychotherapist please just ask.
Call us if you need help
Each individual recovers differently so even our best
predictions can’t be accurate. If you are feeling like your recovery is taking
longer than expected or you have any concerns please give us a call on 01225
700072.
If you’re thinking about visiting a Cosmetic Clinic for a consultation here here’s our guide to certain questions you can ask when you make a booking and during your consultation, to ensure you’re getting the most out of your appointment.
Questions to ask before booking your consultation:
1. Is there a consultation fee?
Lots of clinics operate using different policies, some
offering free consultations and others opting to charge. At Snowberry Lane
Clinic, we charge a £30 holding fee for your first consultation. This means
that the cost is refunded from your first treatment if you choose to go ahead.
2. Will the person I see during the consultation also carry
out the treatment?
It’s good to know that the person you have your initial consultation with will also carry out your treatment. Cosmetic surgeries are very personal, and this ensures you have the opportunity to meet the practitioner and make an informed decision if you’d be comfortable with them treating you.
3. What is the level of experience of the Practitioner?
It’s always reassuring to hear that the person treating you
has a wealth of experience, so a great question to ask when approaching clinics
for a potential consultation. Snowberry Lane Clinic has been established for
over 17 years now and our practitioners have experience over and above these
years.
Questions to ask during your consultation:
1. What is the cost of the treatment?
This is something that you might be able to get a guide to over the phone before you go in for a consultation. However, many treatments are unique to each individual so the price would be determined during the consultation after the practitioner has seen the area that needs treating, and spoken to you about what you’re looking to achieve.
2. What is the aftercare for the treatment?
One of the best ways to understand the impact of a cosmetic
treatment is to go through the aftercare needed for the procedure. This will
tell you the possible side-effects, including what to expect and anything you
might not be able to do following your treatment.

Now more than ever, nurturing your physical and emotional well-being is of utmost importance. Here’s our handful of hints to help you support you in your quest for better self-care.
Start with a smile
Carve out a mini morning routine for yourself that involves something that brings you joy. This could be anything from stretching, to listening to a piece of music that you love or enjoying you favourite cup of tea or coffee.
Stay hydrated
This one is super simple, drink plenty of water throughout the day. Not only is it good for your mind and your mood, but hydration is also excellent for your skin and will help you to look and feel your best.
Hold yourself high
Focusing on maintaining a correct posture can not only help to prevent aches and pains, but also boost your self-esteem, helping you feel and appear more confident.
Keep on moving
Make time each day to move and accelerate your heart rate, this could be anything from a brisk walk to a gym session.
Switch-off
Create boundaries around screen time, a constant stream of emails, texts, calls, and social media can increase stress and take you out of the moment. Switching off for as little as 15 minutes a day can help you to relax and stay present.
Treat yourself
Indulge in the things that make you feel good, whether that’s reading, having a bath or catching up with a friend. We offer some wonderfully relaxing treatments such as our Epionce Soothing Facials or Microdermabrasion that will leave your skin glowing.
Sleep well
Give yourself the opportunity to sleep between 7-9 hours a night, During sleep, your brain eliminates toxins, consolidates memories, and builds new neural pathways meaning you can practice self-care whilst you are dreaming!

Happy New Year from the team at Snowberry Lane Clinic. We’ve
got some exciting plans for 2021, including the introduction of some new and
exciting treatments so keep an eye on our social media channels for more
information.
We’re all rooting for an excellent year after quite a tough 2020, so wanted to start with some resolutions. It feels great to start the year with good intentions, but these can easily give way to disappointment if we feel like we are falling short. We’d like to share our framework to making this year’s resolutions as achievable and rewarding as possible:
Don’t try and tackle too much at once, keep you
list short, ideally 5 items or less – one goal achieved will feel better than
ten missed targets.
Break any large goals into smaller parts with
timings where possible. This will give you small victories along the path to
achieving your main aim.
Reward yourself when you complete things that
contribute to the overall goal.
Share your ambitions with people that you trust,
this adds the element of accountability to help you stay on track.
Don’t give too much weight to minor set-backs,
don’t let them derail your efforts, accept them and move on.
Year on year the most common resolutions in the UK focus on
fitness and weight loss. If you are looking for a bit of help or advice in
regards to fitness and weight loss please don’t hesitate to get in touch by
calling us on 01225 700072.
We’d like to wish all of our clients a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year. The clinic will be closed for Christmas from 4pm on
Thursday the 24th December until Saturday the 2nd of
January 2021. We look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year.
If you’re stuck for an idea for a thoughtful gift for a
loved one, why not get your friend or family member a Gift Voucher for
Snowberry Lane Clinic? We can create a bespoke voucher for you for any
denomination that will be valid for one year from the date of purchase.
Best for existing clients:
If you know someone who already comes to the clinic for
treatments, then a voucher of any denomination to contribute towards this cost
would be a very thoughtful gift.
Best for new clients:
If a friend or family member has spoken about wanting to
come to the clinic, but hasn’t made that final step, then a £30 voucher for a
consultation is a very popular choice.
Give us a call on 01225 700072 if you’d like to organise a
bespoke Gift Voucher for you.

respect these guidelines in the clinic.

requiring them to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds before all

contaminated. The clinic also has regular hand sanitising dispensers for

department offering protection for them and for you. We will be providing
