Facing the world after cosmetic treatment

Our top tips on what to expect after you’ve had a cosmetic treatment, and how to feel confident when facing people in your normal routine.

It doesn’t have to be a secret

Cosmetic treatments are incredibly popular with tens of thousands of people in the UK choosing to get treatments every year. More and more people, including celebrities are talking openly about their treatments so there is no need to feel that you can’t too. Talking openly with friends and family can be a great way to relieve any tension you’re feeling both before and after treatment. However, if you’d rather keep it to yourself that’s absolutely fine too!

Make sure you give yourself enough time to recover

All treatments are different and each individual’s recovery time will vary, however if you can get a good idea of the average down time of your treatment this will help you make better plans for your recovery.

Subtle means successful

At Snowberry Lane Clinic we pride ourselves on ensuring our treatments give subtle natural looking results that aim to boost our confidence. Not making more drastic changes means your treatment is more likely to go unnoticed.

Talk to someone

With our treatments that are more intensive like Alevere Weight Loss Therapy you might want to talk to someone before, during or after your treatment. Alevere requires time and investment from yourself as you lose a significant amount of weight. It is designed as a lifestyle change rather than a diet, but this can be very challenging. We have a Psychotherapist on staff who you can make an appointment with to help council you through these changes. This service is not exclusive to Alevere so if you’d like an appointment with our Psychotherapist please just ask.

Call us if you need help

Each individual recovers differently so even our best predictions can’t be accurate. If you are feeling like your recovery is taking longer than expected or you have any concerns please give us a call on 01225 700072.

Week Two Treatments For Men: Skin

Following on from last week we look at three more treatments that are popular with our male clients, this week focusing on skin.

Radiosurgery

Who is this treatment is for?

Radiosurgery is most frequently requested by clients looking to remove lumps or bumps from the surface of the skin. However, it is also used for other more specialist treatments such as earlobe reconstruction.

How does it work?

The unique benefit of Radiosurgery versus scalpel based surgery is the increased efficiency of the process. The handpiece houses a very thin wire, which carries radiowaves that heat the wire. This process means that as the handpiece is used the cut the skin, the radiowaves are able to heat and seal any exposed blood vessels. This means that the area can be kept cleaner and the Doctor is able to work fore efficiently.

Botox

Who is this treatment is for?

Botox is most suitable for people looking to refresh and rejuvenate their appearance by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on their face. Although most commonly used for anti-wrinkle treatment, because botox is a muscle relaxant it can also help with the treatment of migraines and hyperhydrosis.

How does it work?

Wrinkles are caused when the skin is manipulated by muscles contracting and relaxing, leaving visible lines where it is frequently creased.

Botox is injected into muscle tissue in small quantities, this relaxes the muscle leading to lines and wrinkles appearing softened. The effects of Botox are not permanent, they commonly last around 3 months so would need to be topped up four times a year to maintain the effect.

Dermal Fillers

Who is this treatment is for?

Dermal Fillers are most suitable for people looking to add volume into the skin where it has been lost. A process of aging is the loss of collagen and volume in the skin, fillers help to reduce this aging effect.

How does it work?

Dermal fillers are designed to add volume beneath the skin, plumping the area and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The fillers themselves are made up of a highly purified form of a naturally occurring substance (hyaluronic acid) which gives skin a fuller texture and allows it to retain water, when injected in small volumes under the skin.
