Fractora: What Is It?

Fractora is one of our leading treatments at Snowberry Lane, and with great results, it’s not hard to see why. In fact we are one of the few clinics to offer Fractora in Bristol. So read on to find out more about this innovative treatment.

What is Fractora?

Fractora is an advanced fractional radio frequency treatment that heats up the skin on areas that need to be tightened and smoothed. In particular it is used around the eyes, on the hands and on the neck.

What does it do?
Fractora tightens up the skin using radio frequency technology, which not only tightens the skin, but also erases any wrinkles too, leaving a more radiant and rejuvenated appearance.

What happens?
Fractora is performed using a specially designed nozzle, which heats up the skin using radio frequencywhilst puncturing the skin with a series of tiny bipolar pins. The heat stimulates your skin to produce more collagen, which naturally keeps the skin firm. Then the pins create tiny pin prick holes, which the body then repairs, leaving firmer and more youthful looking skin.

How many treatments are needed?
Typically, between one and four sessions will be required in order to see optimal results.

Does it hurt?
Fractora is one of our more invasive treatments, however in order to keep pain to a minimum, an anaesthetic cream is applied approximately 15 minutes before the procedure begins. If the treatment is to be deeper, then a local anaesthetic is also used in conjunction with the cream.

What happens after the treatment?
After the treatment has been completed a special cream will be provided, which must be applied for a few days after treatment. There will be some swelling and redness to the skin for up to a week after the procedure, although healing time does depend on how deep the treatment went. It is also highly advisable to keep the newly-treated skin out of the sun. After several days, make-up may be worn again, and by one week after the treatment, all signs of swelling and redness should have disappeared.
