Everyday in the UK thousands of people search for weight loss solutions, each person trying to find the ‘newest’, ‘best’ and notably ‘quickest’ way to achieve weight loss.
The tricky thing is that there’s no blanket solution for this issue, what might work for someone may not work for the next person, leaving many people feeling deflated and uninspired after dedicating time and energy to something that promised big changes. Each individual is unique and therefore needs a unique solution to their problem, which is why we offer a range of treatments that we tailor to each client to ensure the best results.
Below we run through the top line details for a few of our most popular weight loss treatments, you can go on to read more about each treatment or give us a call on 01225 700072 to find out more.
Alevere Weight Loss Therapy is a completely non-surgical combination treatment. It combines non-invasive LPG and Ultrasound treatments that help to tighten the skin and contour the body with a medically designed diet. This combination approach enables rapid weight loss over a short period of time. Many of our clients who start the programme are often cynical about the potential to begin with, until they start to see the results themselves.
One of our Alevere clients wrote the following testimonial:
“I had high blood pressure and was getting lots of migraines and was overweight, I didn’t want to start taking pills so felt that I would try Alevere Weight Reduction Therapy. I saw the lovely team at Snowberry Lane Clinic and started back in September. I have lost nearly 3 stone and feel absolutely great. My blood pressure is now normal and I haven’t had a migraine since last year. The added bonus is I look great and have more energy, I would recommend this to everyone.”
Bodytite is minimally invasive surgical procedure. It uses Frequency Assisted Liposuction Tightening technology to gently heat and breakdown fat cells, which can then be removed. Follow the link here for more information, before and after photographs and a video showing how Bodytite works.
Body Jet is a water based liposuction surgery, which uses a special fluid to loosen fat cells from surrounding tissue in order to remove it via suction. The fluid used acts as an anaesthetic as well as helping to reduce swelling and bruising when compared with traditional liposuction.
Read for yourself a testimonial from one of our Body Jet clients:
“Having undergone the Body Jet procedure on my male chest area, I must say that I was very impressed with my experience at Snowberry Lane Clinic. I was made to feel very comfortable during my visit, and there was no discomfort at all throughout the procedure.
I was able to drive home straight after, and returned to work within a few days. As I do a manual job, there was some soreness and pulling but a lot less than I expected. Some bruising appeared on the third day, but after a few more days had completely gone.”
I am very pleased with the results, which were immediately noticeable, and they have slowly improved over the last five months. I thoroughly recommend the Body Jet procedure and Dr Gabriel and his team.”

Smart Lipo has always been a popular choice for people looking to shift problem areas of fat without more drastic forms of surgery, let us update you on the latest form of this non-invasive alternative to liposuction – Body Jet.
How does it work?
Body Jet, sometimes known as Laser Lipo, Aqua-Lipo or WAL uses fluid that is channelled into the fat tissue to help break down the wall of the fat cells and make it easier for the fat to be removed via a thin suction cannula. The fluid used in this process is called infiltration fluid and contains ingredients to minimise pain and bruising.
How is it different to traditional Liposuction?
Body Jet uses a pulsating infiltration fluid spray that gently separates fat cells from other tissue, this means it is easier to remove these loosened cells and therefore less likely to cause trauma than traditional Liposuciton. The procedure does not require general anaesthetic, so it is a day procedure rather than needing an overnight stay.
Advantages of Body Jet include:

Dr Gabriel was recently featured in a Medical Professionals segment for Bath Life, so we thought we’d share his Q&A with you.
In a nutshell, what do you do?
I run a cosmetic clinic in Wiltshire alongside my wife Ann, where we aim to increase or in some cases restore our clients’ confidence with minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. Our philosophy is to use our treatments to make improvements that look as natural as possible.
Proudest recent accomplishment?
It was Snowberry Lane Clinic’s 13th anniversary at the start of the year so I think that’s been my most recent source of pride, reaching this milestone and celebrating it in our new premises with new staff has been wonderful.
Any exciting news?
I’m incredibly excited about the latest results of our weight loss therapy Alevere. It’s a combined treatment involving medically designed meal substitutes and body contouring. At our latest count we’ve worked with 97 clients so far who have lost an incredible 1,130 kilos between them (that’s 180 stones if you’re old-school like me!).
Professional plans for 2016?
In 2016 I’d like to make sure the clinic stays at the forefront of aesthetic medicine, we’re always keen to see how the industry is changing and learning new techniques and treatments so that we can offer the quality of service and results that our clients are looking for.
Biggest challenge in your professional life?
The biggest challenge I face, without a doubt, is time. I need more hours in the day to get more done! We’re incredibly busy at the clinic and it feels like you’re letting people down when you can’t see them straight away, hopefully they understand, and find that it’s worth the wait.
Biggest misconception about what you do?
I think the biggest misconception about the cosmetic industry as a whole is that it’s a quick fix. People often forget to consider downtime and are expecting results to be instantaneous, although some treatments do provide fast results most take time to develop especially when the focus is on natural-looking treatment.
What do you love about working in/around Bath?
Snowberry Lane Clinic is based in Melksham just outside of Bath, the best thing about working here is the countryside setting and the brilliant variety of clients that come to see us.
I love live music so a dream client would be Lianne La Havas, I saw her perform live in Bristol a few years ago with my wife and daughters, and she has an incredible voice.
Favourite subject at school?
It’s probably a little obvious, but I genuinely enjoyed the sciences when I was at school. I had a very inquisitive mind and they presented the most opportunity for discovery to me.
In your free time we’d most likely find you…
If the weather is good I’ll be mountain biking or motorbiking with friends, or if the weather forces me indoors I’m absolutely mad about table tennis, so I’d be playing that with my family or soon-to-be-son-in-laws!
Surprise us with something about yourself
Last year (with a lot of help from friends and family) I installed a water turbine at the weir in Bradford-on-Avon, this will help to generate green electricity for the local area and also to off-set the CO2 produced by the clinic. My dream is for the clinic to be carbon neutral to eliminate the negative impact our use of electricity has on the earth.

What is a cyst?
Cysts are most commonly slow-growing fluid-filled pockets of tissue that appear as lumps beneath the surface of the skin. Sometimes they can contain pus or other materials. They can appear anywhere on the body and often feel like a small smooth growth beneath the skin’s surface.
What should I do if I have a cyst?
Most cysts are benign and painless can be left alone once checked unless they cause the individual distress or they become infected or rupture.
However, if you notice a lump like this and you aren’t sure what it is, it’s always the best idea to consult your GP for a diagnosis to make sure it’s okay to leave it.
Can I get a cyst removed?
There are several methods in which cysts can be treated and removed. At Snowberry Lane Clinic we use the process of Radio Surgery to remove cysts, which is a similar process for mole removal – read more here.
Radio Surgery is a technique that allows the surgeon to cut and cauterise at the same time, which means the process is quicker and cleaner minimising the risk of complications.
The removal of a cyst more often than not requires a few stitches, which will create a small scar, so it’s important to be aware of this before deciding to proceed with treatment.
If you are interested in discussing treatment for the removal of a cyst including booking procedure and prices, please give us a call on 01225 700072 or request a call back at a time convenient for you here.
Our hands go through an awful lot on a daily basis. In this week’s blog post, we discuss ways of protecting our hands from the elements and keeping them smooth, soft, and full of life. These simple steps will help to keep your hands looking and feeling great.
Clean your hands correctly
To most people, this could well be blindingly obvious, but for best results you should wash your hands with warm water and use a soap brand that is antibacterial. By using warm water, it is the effective method for removing bacteria and unwanted germs. Rinse your hands and apply a small amount of antibacterial soap. By rubbing your hands together, cleansing the back of your hands, knuckles and fingernails, you’ll rid yourself of any bacteria or germs on your hands.
Dry hands after washing
Drying hands after washing is more important than you think, if left wet, the water will evaporate from the skin leaving your hands dry and damaged.
Use a lotion that is specific for your hands. By keeping your hands hydrated they stay smooth and soft for longer. Keep moisturisers in places that are easily accessible when you need them such as your handbag, your bedside table or in your car. Always choose moisturisers with an SPF of factor 30 or more, this will help prevent against sun damage, which can lead to age spots.
Exfoliate your hands
If your hands are prone to rougher skin, ensure exfoliating your hands is part of your routine. Be mindful to avoid exfoliators with plastic micro beads as these are bad for the environment, and steer clear of exfoliators containing crushed fruit kernels as these are jagged and can cause damage to your skin.
The use of hand sanitiser
You might be away and not have adequate facilities to wash your hands so the use of a hand sanitiser will keep your hands clean and fresh while you’re on the go. Be sure to moisturise after using hand sanitiser as the alcohol contained in the gel can dry your hands out when used frequently.
Treating yourself to manicure every now and then will help to keep your hands healthy and nourishe your nails.
Treatments for hands
This treatment helps to minimise lines and wrinkles on the hands to make them look younger and rejuvenated. Mini injections are targeted at the cells that cause issues, these can be areas which are dull, loose or lacking vitality. A solution filled with natural amino acids and vitamins creates a balance for co-enzymes to thrive, leading the skin to appear more youthful and rejuvenated.
Procedures like this can help to alleviate wrinkles, age spots and other signs of aging. A cold gel is applied to the damaged area and intensive pulse light targets the damage to reduce the appearance of the signs of aging.

Birthmarks are a natural mark on the skin. They occur during birth or soon after. There are different types that include vascular and pigmented birthmarks.
Vascular birthmarks can appear on the face and head area. If blood vessels are on the surface of the skin are affected, a vascular birthmark will appear in the colour of pink, purple or red. Types of vascular marks include the Salmon Patch, Infantile haemangioma and Port Wine Stain. Salmon marks are pink or red and can appear on the neck, forehead or eyelids of a baby. It’s the most common vascular birth mark. Infantile haemangiomas are usually raised patches on the skin and appear red. Port Wine Stain birth marks are flat purple or red marks that affect a tiny number of new born babies. They vary in size.
The colours of pigmented marks are brown coloured or tanned skin marks. They can appear all over the body. Types of pigmented birthmarks are Mongolian spots, Café-au-lait spots and congenital melanocytic naevi Mongolian spots appear in the colour of blue, grey and are visible from when the baby is born. Café-au-lait spots are coffee coloured patches that are visible on a lot of children. Congenital melanocytic naevi are large black or brown moles that are visible on a baby from birth.
Some people find their birthmarks a cause for self-consciousness and decide to have them removed. At Snowberry Lane Clinic we offer a treatment that safely and effectively helps to remove or reduce the appearance birthmarks from the skin.
Cosmetic Laser Surgery
What is it?
Cosmetic laser surgery can be used to help diminish the appearance of birthmarks and in some cases leave your skin smooth and unblemished. The treatment involves using a laser over the birthmark which then generates heat energy to breakdown the targeted area.
Is it safe?
The treatment is non-invasive, so has shorter down-time than some other more traditional treatments. You will receive top of the range care that is suited to your individual circumstances.
What happens before the procedure?
An initial consultation will take place and you will be able to discuss everything with the practitioner who is going to perform your treatment. You will learn what is going to happen and see examples of other patients who have already gone through the surgery.
If you would like more information on birth marks or the treatments available for the condition then please contact Snowberry Lane or call us on 01225 700072.
As we mature, our skin changes, we develop wrinkles and the texture altars over time and can become rough or damaged depending on how well we look after it. Skin texture can be affected by many factors over our lifetime, such as becoming dried and cracked in cold weather or air-conditioning, or over exposure to the sun causing pigment damage.
Laser and non-invasive treatments are a popular method to help improve the texture of your skin. Our cosmetic treatments can help deal with a number of skin conditions. In this week’s blog post we look at the different options available here at Snowberry Clinic.
Photo Rejuvenation uses intense pulse light is used to improve variety of skin imperfections from wrinkles to age spots. It is a non-invasive procedure that can be tailored to your skin type and the specific skin condition.
We have a range of acne scarring treatments available, including microdermabrasion, cosmetic laser surgery and a range of chemical and non chemical peels designed to reduce the extent of existing marks left behind by acne.
If you’d prefer a treatment that doesn’t use lasers, chemicals or needles we offer Microdermabrasion as an effective treatment to refresh your complexion. During the treatment medical grade crystals are passed over the skin’s surface through a process of exfoliation. The new, living skin cells beneath this top layer remain leaving a refreshed youthful appearance.
Mesotherapy can help to rejuvenate the skins appearance by stimulating the collagen beneath the surface of the skin. Working through a series of very fine, virtually painless injections, Mesotherapy introduces a medically designed nutrient and vitamin rich solution under the skin that stimulated the cells and can result in a refreshed appearance.
If you would like more information on the treatments above or any other treatments available please call us on 01225 700 072 or contact us via the website.
It was great to read the recent news that there will be a tighter level of regulation set here in the UK for how cosmetic clinics operate. With so many clinics out there that don’t have fully qualified staff treating patients, the standard level of safety needed is about to have a positive increase across the country. Today on the blog we’re going to help you understand what you need to look out for and what we at Snowberry Lane think about this news. Continue reading
