Tixel FAQ Special

Tixel FAQ Special Main Image

This week on the blog we share the answers to your most frequently asked questions about one of our top skin rejuvenating treatments – Tixel.

What is Tixel?

Tixel is a ground-breaking treatment that uses controlled heat energy to encourage the renewal of skin. The specially designed hand-piece is made from a grid of pyramids, which transfer heat when they come into contact with the skin, creating micron sized pores in the upper layers of the skin. The healing process after treatment encourages the skin cells to rejuvenate and refresh, as well as encouraging collagen, which all helps to tighten and smooth the appearance of the skin.

What can Tixel be used to treat?

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Age spots
  • Pigmentation
  • Acne scarring
  • Sun damage

How many treatments would I need for best results?

The number of treatments depends on the individual, skin type and issue. Before any treatment you would have a consultation with a medical practitioner who will be able to design an individual treatment plan for you. Most commonly the average number of treatments is 3-4.

Is the treatment painful?

Tixel is designed to be more comfortable than other rejuvenating laser treatments. For more intensive treatments an anaesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment to increase comfort further.

How much downtime is involved?

Commonly after treatment most people experience swelling, redness and warmth for several hours. More intensive treatments can leave crusting after treatment, which usually subsides after 3 days and can be reduced with moisturiser.

How long does it take to see results?

Results vary from person to person, depending on the individual treatment plan. On average our clients report seeing visible results after 1-2 months from the first treatment date.

How to get the most out of your Consultation

How to get the most out of your Consultation Main Image

If you’re thinking about visiting a Cosmetic Clinic for a consultation here here’s our guide to certain questions you can ask when you make a booking and during your consultation, to ensure you’re getting the most out of your appointment.

Questions to ask before booking your consultation:

1. Is there a consultation fee?

Lots of clinics operate using different policies, some offering free consultations and others opting to charge. At Snowberry Lane Clinic, we charge a £30 holding fee for your first consultation. This means that the cost is refunded from your first treatment if you choose to go ahead.

2. Will the person I see during the consultation also carry out the treatment?

It’s good to know that the person you have your initial consultation with will also carry out your treatment. Cosmetic surgeries are very personal, and this ensures you have the opportunity to meet the practitioner and make an informed decision if you’d be comfortable with them treating you.

3. What is the level of experience of the Practitioner?

It’s always reassuring to hear that the person treating you has a wealth of experience, so a great question to ask when approaching clinics for a potential consultation. Snowberry Lane Clinic has been established for over 17 years now and our practitioners have experience over and above these years.

Questions to ask during your consultation:

1. What is the cost of the treatment?

This is something that you might be able to get a guide to over the phone before you go in for a consultation. However, many treatments are unique to each individual so the price would be determined during the consultation after the practitioner has seen the area that needs treating, and spoken to you about what you’re looking to achieve.

2. What is the aftercare for the treatment?

One of the best ways to understand the impact of a cosmetic treatment is to go through the aftercare needed for the procedure. This will tell you the possible side-effects, including what to expect and anything you might not be able to do following your treatment.
