This week on the blog we give the answers to all of your most frequently asked questions about skin rejuvenating treatment Tixel.
- What is Tixel?
Tixel is a ground-breaking treatment that uses controlled heat energy to encourage the renewal of skin. The specially designed handpiece is made from a grid of pyramids, which transfer heat when they come into contact with the skin, creating micron sized pores in the upper layers of the skin. The healing process after treatment encourages the skin to rejuvenate and refresh as well as encouraging collagen.
- What can Tixel be used to treat?
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Age spots
- Acne scarring

- How many treatments would I need for best results?
The number of treatments depends on the individual, skin type and issue. Before any treatment you would have a consultation with a medical practitioner how will be able to design an individual treatment plan for you. Most commonly the average number of treatments is 3-4.
- Is the treatment painful?
Tixel is designed to be more comfortable than other rejuvenating laser treatments. For more intensive treatments an anaesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment to increase comfort further.
- How much downtime is involved?
Tixel is designed for reduced downtime. Commonly after treatment most people experience swelling, redness and warmth for several hours. More intensive treatments can leave crusting after treatment, which usually subsides after 3 days and can be reduced with moisturiser.
