Using Botox For Wrinkles

Arguably one of the most popular and well known cosmetic treatments in the world, Botox has been used for decades and delivers results with minimal to no side effects. Here at Snowberry Lane Clinic we have been carrying out this treatment for over 12 years and have become one of the UK’s top clinics for Botox treatment. In this blog post we’ll be discussing how it is used to treat deep wrinkles.

While Botox is principally associated with reducing the appearance of wrinkles, it is actually a multi-functional and highly versatile treatment. Eye ticks, uncontrollable blinking and hyperhidrosis are just some of the issues it can help treat.

Botox’s full name is Botulinum toxin, it is a purified form of a toxin called clostridium botulinum. When injected under the skin, Botox causes the muscles to   relax, decreasing the level of contraction a muscle can carry out. This helps to prevent the muscle from moving and creasing the skin, which is how lines and wrinkles are created..  This allows the skin to relax and become smoother, which in turn sees wrinkles on the surface fade.

At Snowberry Lane Clinic we takes steps to make the treatment as easy and comfortable as possible. eThis includes a full consultation before any treatment to talk through all of the details and make sure it’s the right treatment for you. We also cool the skin of the treatment area before to reduce pain to a minimum.

We’ll be talking more about the different uses of Botox in future blog posts to highlight how versatile the treatment is. If you are interested in finding out more about Botox treatments for wrinkles and other areas, you can visit our Botox page.
