What is Cosmetic Laser Surgery?

Cosmetic laser surgery is a non-invasive technique for the treatment of various skin conditions. In most scenarios, a hand-held laser is passed over an area of skin. It generates heat energy that alters appearance, improves tone and breaks down problematic pigment areas.

It is suitable for all types and colours of skin and is a safe, effective procedure with minimal risk.

What Can Laser Treatments Help?

Laser treatments work fantastically on several conditions, including:

  • Fine lines
  • Deep wrinkles
  • Loose skin
  • Pigmentation issues
  • Facial veins and leg veins
  • Hair removal
  • Tattoo removal
  • Acne Scarring

Laser treatment may not be the best solution for a specific condition where something like radiosurgery may work best, but through a thorough consultation with a specialist, we’ll know the best course of action.

Is Laser Treatment Good for Skin?

It works fantastically if you want a very precise treatment on a small area of skin. You are guaranteed a high level of accuracy, which benefits when we are dealing with troublesome areas like the corners of the nose and around the eyes.

Is Laser Treatment Safe?

Yes. Compared to all traditional forms of cosmetic treatments, lasers provide a much lower risk and extended benefits.

Laser Treatment Types

Laser treatments at Snowberry Lane include:

  • Photo Rejuvenation
Say goodbye to wrinkles! Laser treatments such as photo rejuvenation can reverse the signs of ageing on the hands, face, neck and chest. The tightening of the skin minimises lines, and the size of pores are reduced. Results create fresher, brighter and more toned skin, which gives you a new, more radiant look.
Skin blemishes, such as freckles and age spots, can also be treated.

  • Adult Acne
The treatment of acne with cosmetic lasers is an exciting new development which has been shown in research to be effective in conjunction with other treatments. The laser acts on the bacterial porphyrins to give excellent results.
  • Micro Laser Peel
In this treatment, a hand-held laser vaporises the surface of the skin, encouraging newer and younger-looking skin to come to the surface. This method is used to treat areas of the hands, face and neck for deeper lines and wrinkles, particularly for skin conditions that are a result of the ageing process.
  • Laser Hair Reduction
The permanent hair reduction procedure sends a laser beam through the skin to reach the hair follicle under the surface of the skin. The follicles are destroyed by the heat generated from the laser energy. The laser beam has a large diameter so it can reach several hair follicles at one time for effective hair reduction.
  • Laser Vein Removal
A laser beam is passed through the surface of the skin to reach blood vessels, causing the vessel walls to collapse and later dissolve within the body. Unsightly vessels of all types, including those tiny matted red facial vessels which are symptoms of rosacea, will respond kindly to this kind of treatment.
  • Laser Tattoo Removal
The procedure is carried out by using a concentrated source of light energy such as a Medlite laser. Results will vary based on tattoo size, colour and age.

Are There Side Effects from Laser Treatments?

There are some minor risks involved which you will be told about during the consultation. Redness and itching are the most common, but creams can reduce these symptoms.

There is also the possibility of swelling, but again, because it is a non-invasive treatment, it will be minimal in comparison to traditional methods.
